Out with the Old: KASU Dissolves SRC Leadership Ahead of New choices
The political geography at Kaduna State University (KASU) just shifted. The Independent Electoral Committee (IECOM) has officially pulled the draw on the current Pupil Representative Council (SRC), dissolving both the administrative branch and the congress.
This is not a “blasting” or a reproach; it’s simply the end of the road for the 2024/2025 administration. Their time is over, and according to the rulebook, it’s time to clear the stage for the forthcoming 2025/2026 choices.
The Handover Process
Now that the dissolution is sanctioned, the former pupil leaders are not just walking out; they’ve got some schoolwork to do. IECOM has ordered all executives to immediately hand over
sanctioned documents and records.
All Council-possessed parcels.
Anything different belonging to the SRC.
Everything goes straight to the IECOM Chairman’s office. This move is all about making sure the “books” are balanced and that the coming set of leaders does not walk into a mess.
What Happens Next?
With the old guard gone, the focus shifts entirely to the coming election. The IECOM Chairman, Shamaki Onem Abraham, made it clear that they’re aiming for a transition that actually follows popular principles, meaning translucency and responsibility are not just buzzwords this time.
still, this is your signal that the “election season” has officially begun, If you’re a pupil at KASU.
